Mark Lear, CFA

Mark Lear is a managing director and senior research analyst covering the exploration and production sector at Piper Sandler. Lear joined the firm in 2020 from Jefferies where he had been head of E&P research for three years. He began his research career at Sidoti & Company in 2006 where he built the E&P franchise over a four-year period before moving to Credit Suisse where he served as a senior E&P analyst for seven years. Prior to entering equity research, he spent seven years as an equity and derivatives sales trader at Tullett Liberty and Wall Street Access. Lear holds a bachelor’s degree from Bates College and is a CFA Charterholder.
